These are bold claims that no one – Glock fan or not – can dispute. I have often said that the Glock is the foundation of firearms. Its reliability is verified and indisputable. Glock is above all reliable and this has been proven in dozens of military, police and institutional tests. If you're spending less than a Glock, then the question is, "What corners are being cut?" If you pay more than a Glock, then the question is, "What's the advantage?"
Among the tested Glock accessories is the Glock 33 bullet 9mm magazine. While there are floor plates and such that make up a 19-round magazine, in the 9mm Glock the 33-round magazine is the granddaddy of them all. This magazine was developed for use in the Glock 18, the fully automatic 9mm version of the Glock 17. Unlike most competitors and cheap knockoffs, the Glock magazine has a steel liner to support power and feed.
The magazine is well produced with evident good quality control. The base is strong enough to withstand multiple drops and provides good stability when performing speed loads. I own a few that have been thrown out during magazine changes and hard practice and they work well. On the back of the magazine there are holes for witnesses, which are marked 5 to 31.
Magazines provide a tactical advantage in home defense – especially if the weapon is a modern 9mm carbine, such as the Glock magazine-compatible Kel-Tec Sub 2000. The balance does not significantly change the balance of the Glock 9mm. If anything, the piece is more stable with the magazine inserted.

The magazine weighs 20 ounces with 124-grain ammunition. The correct loading sequence for any high-capacity magazine is to load three to four rounds, tap the rear of the magazine to fully seat the case against the rear of the magazine, and continue until the magazine is full. When loading a Glock magazine, the spring pressure is initially strong, as it should be. Junk magazines are weak at first and gradually become more difficult.
The Glock is tough and getting tougher. I can fill the magazine up to 29 rounds before I need the Blackhawk! magazine loader. The fact is that the magazine loader makes it easy right from the start, but most of us – especially the younger ones like me – will have little trouble filling the magazine.
I tested the Glock 33 magazine in several Glock pistols, shooting at an angle and even upside down. The magazine has never failed to feed and the guns have never failed to feed, chamber, fire or eject. 124 grain Federal Sintech ammo was used — a new load that I find exceptional for practical use. I practice a lot with the Glock and enjoy shooting these pistols.
The 33-round magazines were left loaded for months and fell out even when loaded to full capacity. If you want to use the traditional method of taking one or two rounds, it is fine for long term use. However, I don't see the need for this magazine.

The 33-round magazine is well balanced. It weighs about 20 ounces with a full load of 124-grain ammunition.
I often have this magazine ready in my Glock at home. The long slide Glock 9mm loaded with Speer Dot bullets and offering a 33 round capacity makes a great home defender. Few, if any of us, will have time to grab a flashlight and a spare magazine when the night calls out and the home invasion teams come in pairs. The 33-round Glock magazine is a great choice for home defense. The range is also a lot of fun and that means a lot of practice.
