Even with the new G3 and G3c pistols available, the Taurus G2C is still a great choice for concealed carry. With an affordable price tag, you get serious value - an accurate and reliable handgun backed by an array of aftermarket accessories. It is easy to use and easy to store. Simply put, I trust the Taurus G2C, and that's saying something.

Taurus G2c 9mm New In Box!
First, sales were higher than expected, which surprised some people. Taurus is not the company it was 10 years ago. Back in the day, if you bought a Taurus (especially a semi-auto), another shooter might give you a quarter and say "get it in" - it was more likely to get out. you get a good gun, or words to that effect.
The point is that the number of returns is somewhat reduced. Under new management, Taurus is really trying to clean up its act in terms of quality control. However, I am not a Taurus fanboy, nor do I work for them.

I've had my share of comebacks in Miami. I want to give the idea that the company is trying to do a better job. They are certainly interested in innovation in the development of firearms. Examples include the Curve .380, the Spectrum .380 (I own), and the Taurus 85 View .38 Special with a clear side panel.
Taurus G2c Trigger Upgrade
None of these made as big an impact on the shooting world as Taurus' TX22 semi-automatic .22 LR pistol.
This gun, to give it a quick look, could be mistaken for a compact 9mm, but it's actually a full size .22. The magazine holds 16 rounds and the gun has all the characteristics of a carry gun. That's no accident...Taurus put this gun on the market as a training pistol, a .22 that acts like your centerfire model. It is quite innovative in that respect.
The reason I mention them is to show that Taurus is clearly trying to break out of the box and make up for what it has lost in years of careless quality control and customer service. G2C (and later G3C) is a good example of this.
Taurus introduced the Millenium series of pistols in 2005. Some of the pistol models in this series include the PT111, PT132, PT140 and PT145, all in both Standard and Pro formats. These guns are striker-fired, short-recoil, and designed to fire double-action only or single/double-action. They were released to compete in the concealed carry market and for law enforcement purposes. In 2013, the G2 guns were revealed. They are 9mm and .40 S&W caliber.
The Taurus G2s
The PT111 G2A is the 9mm version and features a rough grip, a port side safety lever, single action with double shot capability, frame molded "memory pads", a three-point adjustable rear. sight system and a Glock-style pull-down lever takedown system. Here are some quick vital statistics:
Before there was a G2C, there was the PT111 Millenium Pro. I own two of them. They are great guns, but the G2C is a definite improvement.
Two major differences between the PT111 Pro and the G2C are the G2C's dot grip and the lack of the Taurus key lock security system.
This alone made many people buy this gun instead of the older one. The security system, to put it politely, is not very pleasant. However, Taurus removed him from G2C. With four other safety devices, they probably thought they didn't need them.

Let's talk, right away, about what I like and don't like about my G2C. Obviously I want it to keep it – I wear it regularly – but there are a few things I would change if I could.
I really like the new scoring treatment the grip frame got. The rough surface that wraps around your hand as you shoot. I might even get my soldering iron and put my sewing work on top of the Taurus.
Some people don't like them, but I do. There is one in my Springfield XDM, a camera flag like the G2C. I can run my finger over the barrel hood to see if the chamber is full, which I have done several times, without having to look at the gun. I prefer this system to the "peek-hole" that some guns use.
Even though it's a single-action pistol, it uses a double firing device, so if the primer doesn't go off the first time, you can have another crack before you have to press. -rack-bangâ. I used this feature a lot, especially on some of my reloads where I might not get the entire primer. They usually always end up on the second pull. A side note: this is why you don't carry reloads as self defense ammo. I usually carry Remington Golden Sabers or Hornady Critical Defense rounds. To see some of the best 9mm self defense ammo, see here).

Okay, so it's not the most stable sight out there, but at least you can adjust it for strength and elevation for different loads. I have had the same vision with other Taurus guns I have owned and they have not let me down.
Taurus G2C White dot front sight (originally white; I painted this one to reduce aging on my eyes).
The feed ramp is polished, maybe not up to Springfield Armory standards, but it's certainly better than the feed ramps I've had on older Taurus pistols. I had no problem feeding with factory ammo, although I had to adjust some of my reloads for reliable operation.
(This picture really doesn't show how shiny the ramp is. It's actually better than the old ones. I'll polish it when I have time – I just got the gun not too long ago).
My Taurus G2c
The resulting recoil spring is mounted on a polymer guide rod. There are a few instances where the spring slips off the end of the shaft, binding the gun. Because of this, Lakeline LLC sells many replacement stainless steel guide rods and springs. Taurus can fix this by making the shaft metal instead of plastic. I will pay any additional cost of the gun to replace it.
The trigger can be improved. There is a definite "catch" after you rotate the slide and pull the trigger as the trigger safety moves out of the way. When I first got it, it was so pronounced that I thought something was wrong because it didn't sound when I clicked.
I found out later that the clicking was related to the safety of the trigger blade. The "trigger nometry" and safety blade seem better. This causes the safety to lock unless you pull the trigger back.
Some home remedies I've read or seen on YouTube include filing the tip of the blade a bit, or even putting heat shrink tubing over the trigger and blade and making them "one" by -retraction of the blade. tubing over the two.
The Taurus G3x: A Great Compact 9mm At A Great Price
I can't imagine that these arrangements will smile in Miami. I don't know about voiding warranties, but why insist on this? Mine is coming along fine. Just pull the trigger correctly and you shouldn't have any problems. It works itself out as I put more rounds down.
I know I mentioned the adjustable rear sight above. However, some people worry that this special adjustable scope on a carry gun can be fragile. So I replace the factory sight with a fixed or drift adjustable rear.
Night sights are available, again from Lakeline LLC. A fiber optic front is another option. There are actually many sighting solutions for this gun, but if you want a red gun, you may need to visit a gunsmith.
Some cowboys on YouTube seem to like to moan and groan about this gun and then come to the conclusion that it is not a Sig P365. Guess what? You're right! It is NOT P365 and is not reserved.
Taurus G2c 9mm & Millennium Pt111 G2 / Pt140 Pistol
In case you forgot, when the P365 first came out, it had its fair share of problems. Nothing is perfect.
Batting with P365? Hell no... I want to have one, but I can't afford it. You can literally buy two G2Cs for the price of P365 (see below).
I singled out the P365 for special treatment because it seems to be the 'prodigy' of subcompact 9s right now.
Speaking of comparisons, I'll put the G2C's specs next to some other popular 9mm carry options. We hope this helps if you're trying to decide between two or more guns.
