M2hb Machine Gun - After the start of mass production of the CANiK M2 QCB heavy machine gun, SYS receives the first export order for more than 1,000 units
After starting mass production of the 12.7mm CANiK M2 heavy machine product family, SYS received the first export order. The first model of the CANiK M2 product family, whose mass production started after the qualification phase, was the CANiK M2 QCB with a Quick-Change Barrel (QCB) function. Preparing to make the first deliveries to domestic users soon, the company has achieved remarkable success by receiving more than 1,000 orders from abroad.

SYS had anticipated the interest the CANiK M2 family of heavy machine guns would receive and therefore began infrastructure investments at the same time as its R&D studies. The company has completed the installation of a mass production line with a capacity of 3,000 units per year in this area. During the first stage, the company completed the qualification phase of the receiver (gun body) production line. Within the Machine Gun Project Platform contract signed with the Presidency of the Defense Industries (SSB), SYS, which will deliver 650 heavy machine guns, has finished production of the receivers. SYS intends to start barrel production after qualification of the barrel production line in June. The company plans to make its first deliveries soon within the Platform Machine Guns project.

Considering the weapon's overseas marketing potential, SYS began business development studies prior to mass production. This prediction has already turned into business contacts. The company already has more than 1,000 CANiK M2 QCB pre-orders from many countries. SYS will begin production for overseas users as soon as it completes deliveries for the Platform Machine Guns project.
SYS has developed the CANiK M2 heavy machine gun as a comprehensive product family that meets the diverse needs of different users. During development, the company designed different versions of the weapon, for armies, navies and air forces.
SYS offers CANiK M2 QCB, the ground troop version, with a tripod mount that can be disassembled into 2 parts for easier portability. When the M2 heavy machine gun is to be used by dismounted troops, it is fired by mounting it on a tripod. As an alternative to the traditional tripod mount that weighs 20 kg, there is also a lighter version of this tripod mount developed by SYS for CANiK M2 QCB. With a total weight of 8 kg, this tripod stand is specially made of carbon fiber.
SYS designed CANiK M2 QCB-N, which has high corrosion resistance, for naval platforms. Many weapon systems developed for land platforms are also integrated into naval platforms with little or no modification for reasons such as cost effectiveness. Adverse environmental conditions at sea, such as salt water, can adversely affect weapons. The special coating technology applied by SYS provides the CANiK M2 QCB-N heavy machine gun with increased corrosion resistance.

SYS offers CANiK M2 F, which has a higher rate of fire, with specially developed lighter mounts, for aerial vehicles. SYS, and its specialist weapons integration subsidiary Unidef, have developed mounts for lighter aircraft using different alloys and distinctive design principles. This has resulted in integration solutions that can provide high firepower without the negative effects of weight, which is one of the main design limitations of aircraft.
The tripod mount, developed by SYS especially for CANiK M2 QCB, can be easily disassembled into 2 parts under field conditions.
The extended barrel, firing pin, and ejector life of the QCB CANiK M2 sets it apart from its peers, and this extended life is the result of extensive research and development and testing. The company started this journey to produce the best M2 heavy machine gun in the world, under the CANiK brand. His efforts led to the development of a barrel manufacturing technology that is unique worldwide. Thanks to these studies, the accuracy of the barrel increased to less than 6 MOA.
C. Utku Aral, the general manager of SYS, who described the works that led to the launch of the production of the weapon, said: "The innovations and changes incorporated in our heavy machine of the CANiK M2 QCB brand are more important than most. updates made . to the present day from initial production in the 1930s. We have made considerable changes to the material and design of the quick-change barrel to meet the high specifications of the Defense Industries Presidency's "Platform Machine Gun Project." As a result , we've increased barrel life well beyond the top models on the market. Along with this, the materials we've used for the core components of the firing mechanism and the special processes we've applied to these parts have increased the durability of the gun as a whole and allow it to perform at higher performance for longer periods, even under the most difficult operating conditions. We developed a gun with a striker, ejector and barrel that lasts twice as long as its peers in the world. As those with some skill in the use of this gun know very well, these three components are the parts of the gun that experience the most wear and tear and are therefore detrimental to the life of the gun.”

From 2021, SYS started mass production of CANIK M2 QCB with a production capacity of 3,000 units per year.
The M2 occupies a privileged and indispensable place in the machine gun market with the characteristics summarized in Table 1. Aral describes the history of the weapon as follows: “The heavy machine, known as the 'Ma Deuce', is one of the most durable. weapons in the inventory of the world's armed forces. It was originally intended as a heavy weapon to be able to fire at long range with high penetration ammunition, for use against tanks and aircraft, which were becoming widespread at the front during the First World War. enlarging a .30-caliber M1917 machine to fire .50-caliber cartridges. The resulting M1918 machine gun was issued in 1919 and entered the inventory of the United States Armed Forces, taking its final form as the M2 in 1933 with additional improvements.
The M2 has proven to be a reliable, efficient, and effective weapon that has been effectively deployed in active combat in a wide variety of conditions and in a variety of different situations for nearly 90 years, and has remained virtually unchanged. The changes made to the initial design of the weapon are modifications intended to meet the various needs arising from the use of the weapon aboard different air and ground vehicles.
The CANiK M2 QCB is now ready to serve ground, air and naval forces as a superior machine gun, with new features that put it ahead of its competitors. It can be used most efficiently in an anti-materiel role against air, land and sea vehicles with soft armor or light armour. It can also serve to suppress enemy infantry targets, especially for flanking or long-range vision.

The full effectiveness of these machine guns, which are essentially platform weapons, can only be achieved through full and seamless integration into the relevant air, land and sea vehicles. At this point, SYS subsidiaries Unidef and Unirobotics can provide the necessary solutions, having developed user-friendly systems that ensure the simple and convenient use of heavy weapons such as the M2 in various vehicles. For this, they have designed many integration solutions that offer:
These companies also designed special machine gun pods using CANiK M2F and CANiK M2 QCB for fixed and rotary platforms.
CANiK M2 QCB, CANiK M2 QCB-N and CANiK M2F weapons can be used on land, sea and air vehicles for the following purposes, thanks to the integration solutions provided by Unidef and Unirobotics:

Although similar to the earlier Browning M1919 Browning submachine gun, which was chambered for the .30-06 cartridge, the M2 uses the larger and more powerful Browning .50 BMG (12.7mm) cartridges. The design had many nominations; the official US military designation for the current infantry type is Browning Machine Gun, Cal. ,50, M2, HB, Flexible. It is effective against infantry, unarmored or lightly armored vehicles and ships, light fortifications, and low-flying aircraft.

The weapon has been used extensively as a vehicle weapon and for aircraft armament by the United States since the 1930s. It was used extensively during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Falklands War, the Soviet War- Afghanistan, the Gulf War, the Iraq War and the Afghanistan War. It is the main heavy machine of the NATO countries and has also been used by many other countries. US forces have used the M2 longer than any other firearm except the .45 ACP M1911 pistol, which was also designed by John Browning.
