Taurus G4 9mm - The Taurus has just released what is arguably the most affordable 9mm pistol on the market today. The Taurus GX4 is the company's answer to similar handguns such as the SIG P365, Springfield Hellcat and Ruger MAX-9. He sent me a Taurus GX4 a month before his gun was posted online and I had to put the gun in his holster and pick it up and see how much ammo the Taurus put into this new gun. So today I'm going to share my thoughts on the new port and hopefully give you a good idea of whether it would be a good option to add to your stash.
From what I can tell, the Taurus is trying to separate itself from some things from the past, which include shipping weapons in a cardboard box. While I don't like keeping my weapons in their original location, some people like to keep them organized and transport their weapons to and from different places. The GX4 comes in one plastic box along with two 11-round magazines, an extended rack and a GX4 instruction manual.

When I first started I felt like the GX4 was a new beast compared to their previous shotguns like the G2C and G3C. The design of the pistol is very different from previous Taurus pistols, it also includes a new trigger and no hand guard, and I'm glad the Taurus had the guts to do it. Like most modern pistols, the GX4 has notches on the slide and a skateboard-like grip. The pistol also has memory pads on both sides of the frame.

One feature that goes from the G3C pistol to the GX4 is the front of the pistol. This dial makes it easy to return the gun to its holster. Sights are combined with a white dotted front sight and a black whole. I wish the Taurus would take the opportunity to have a better three dot sight or a better night sight as an option, but they said the GX4 is compatible with spring sights.
After playing around with the gun for a few days before I got there, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. In my dry-firing experience, I found the new Taurus trigger designed for the GX4 to be just great. It's not a competition trigger, but it's one of the best pistol triggers I've come across. Whatever the Taurus do with the GX4 pistol, they must do with their future pistols.
The air intake is very small, about a quarter of an inch, and then there is an inexplicable little piece that causes an explosion before it stops properly with a visible zero. When the bullet hits the ground, the reset is a hair over eight inches until it reaches the intelligent reset. In my home test, I found the trigger to weigh about 4 pounds.
I found that the grip style was exactly what I wanted it to be. He wasn't overly aggressive, but he wasn't. Wearing it in my belt setup did not cause any signs of irritation or scratching the skin, and the gas nitride treated slide handles sweat and daily secretions well with the belly belt and LAG Tactical holster.
Did You Know — What Taurus And Sig Have In Common?
I fed the GX4 a mixture of recycled weapons, as well as a bag of weapons from my "secret". The secret box is basically my leftovers from the factory bullet boxes and some extras that didn't turn out to be permanent for me. The pistol worked very well with all the ammo, and even after firing a few magazines with the remaining +P rounds, everything worked as it should. I've had magazines in the past that couldn't match Federal HST 147g ammo at full magazine capacity, but were perfect for the Mec-Gar 11 GX4 magazine.
Taurus offers 13 round magazines starting with the GX4 and I'd like to test them in the lineup. My hands aren't all that big, but I found that my pinky only clenched when I was holding a gun. I think the 13 round magazine has some pinky feel which I think would make it more accurate on subsequent shots.
I am very impressed with the Taurus GX4. Taurus proves right here that since weapons are cheap, they shouldn't be.
Everything from new magazines to a new and improved trigger makes a big difference in my book when it comes to this type of weapon. A few things I wish I could see offered that weren't were a night vision option from the factory, an optics cutter (which I think will be a few months after the original release), and the addition of an extra rail. .

Not everyone uses these things, but most of us, and I know many people, put flashlights and optics on all of their guns. Overall, I think the Taurus GX4 is a great addition to the compact 9mm pistol market and the most affordable pistol on the list if you don't need the other features I mentioned above. Overall, the Taurus GX4 should be a great concealed carry weapon for anyone who wants to own a concealed carry weapon and be able to carry a large amount of ammo without breaking the bank.
